Windows Corporate Computer - Preparation

⚠️ Important Information - Computer Usage

Power Supply

  • Connect the computer to a power source using the supplied power adapter.
  • Use only the supplied power adapter.
  • To ensure optimal battery life, I recommend keeping the computer plugged in for the first 24 hours.
  • Make sure the power supply is available throughout the entire setup process.
  • Do not disconnect the power during setup. This can lead to unforeseen complications and damage the computer.

Using the Trackpad

  • Always click on the lower left side of the trackpad.
  • You can scroll using two fingers.

Computer Sensors

  • The computers are equipped with fingerprint sensors and facial recognition cameras. Please use them for your account security.
  • Some computers have a SIM card slot. Contact your IT support if prompted and you wish to use it. Not possible during the enrollment process.
  • If you perform the enrollment in the office, avoid starting it at the same time as all your colleagues. This can overload the available internet connection.

In Case of Problems or Unexpected Events

  • Read the last chapter on troubleshooting carefully. It will likely help you.
  • We have a service provider who is happy to assist you if you get stuck.
  • Do not contact Greencells GmbH IT. They cannot help you with this setup.

General Preparation

🌐 Wi-Fi Connection

  • A strong connection to the Wi-Fi.
  • You must have the Wi-Fi name and password available (no QR code).
  • Please do not use hotel or bar Wi-Fi.
  • Avoid heavily restricted networks.
  • No Wi-Fi with limited data volume. Large amounts of data will be downloaded.

📱 Mobile Phone

  • A mobile phone (iPhone or Android).
  • A mobile phone – it can be a personal or company device.
  • The battery should be sufficiently charged for at least the next 30 minutes.
  • You may only use iPhones or Android smartphones with access to the Google Play Store or App Store.
  • Install "Microsoft Authenticator" on your device. You can download the app here:
    • Android (Google Play Store): Microsoft Authenticator
    • iOS (App Store): Microsoft Authenticator
  • The phone will serve as a second key to access our Greencells Development Microsoft 365 environment.

👤 User Data

  • Your username (email address ending in @gc.dev).
  • If something is wrong with your username, contact your IT support immediately and wait with the next step until the problem is resolved.
  • Only continue with the new username and password.
  • Your temporary password will be provided by Greencells Development IT.
  • The temporary password is valid until you log in for the first time.
  • Think of a secure personal password:
    • At least 8 characters long
    • Uppercase and lowercase letters
    • One or more special characters

⏱️ Plan Time

  • Take one hour of your time.
  • Take your time, make yourself a coffee or tea, and stay near the computer throughout the entire setup process.
  • Please do not skip any steps and follow all instructions as provided until the end for an optimal user experience.
  • The setup must be completed without interruption. Only start if you can ensure you have enough time.
  • The maximum waiting time between steps is about 3–5 minutes, depending on your device and internet speed.
