iPhone - Preparation
This guide will help you prepare your iPhone for use with Greencells Development while maintaining complete separation and privacy of your personal data.
Basic Requirements
🌐 Wi-Fi Connection
- A strong and stable Wi-Fi connection.
- You must have the Wi-Fi name and password available (no QR code).
- Please do not use hotel or bar Wi-Fi.
- Avoid heavily restricted networks.
- No Wi-Fi with limited data volume. Large amounts of data will be downloaded.
📱 Device Requirements
- iPhone with iOS 12.0 or later (iOS 14.0+ recommended).
- At least 2GB of available storage space.
- Battery charged to at least 50% for the setup process.
- Access to the App Store with your personal Apple ID.
Step 1: Preparing Your iPhone
Please choose the scenario that applies to your iPhone:
📱 Company iPhone previously connected to Greencells.com
Important Notice for Former Company iPhones
If your iPhone was previously managed by the old Greencells.com environment, the old management profile must be completely removed.
For former Greencells GmbH company iPhones:
- Remove Management Profile:
- Go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management
- Look for any management profiles related to Greencells.com
- Tap on the profile and select "Remove Management"
- Enter your iPhone passcode when prompted
- Remove Work Apps:
- Delete any work-related apps that were installed by the old management
- This includes Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, etc. if they were company-installed
- You'll reinstall these fresh in the new environment
- 2FA Backup: Before removing anything, ensure you have backup access to your @gc.dev account by adding your phone number at Microsoft Security Info
- IT Coordination: Contact it@greencells.com to request official removal of your device from their management system
📱 Personal iPhone previously connected to Greencells.com
For personal iPhones that had work apps installed:
- Go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management
- Remove any Greencells.com management profiles
- Delete work-related apps that were installed under the old system
- Keep your personal apps and data - they won't be affected
📱 Brand New or Personal iPhone (No Previous Enrollment)
If your iPhone is new or has never been connected to a corporate environment, you can skip the removal steps above and proceed directly to the setup.
Step 2: Required Applications
Before starting the enrollment, install these apps from the App Store:
Microsoft Authenticator
Essential for secure login and multi-factor authentication. Download from the App Store.
Microsoft Intune Company Portal
This app manages your work profile and provides access to work applications. Download from the App Store.
User Credentials
- Your username (email address ending in @gc.dev)
- Temporary password provided by Greencells Development IT
- If there are issues with your username, contact IT support immediately
- Prepare a secure personal password:
- At least 8 characters long
- Mix of uppercase and lowercase letters
- Include numbers and special characters
Privacy and Security Information
Your Privacy is Protected
The management profile only affects work-related applications and data. Your personal apps, photos, messages, and data remain completely private.
What the Company Can See
Only work-related information: device model, iOS version, compliance status, work apps, and work data storage usage.
What the Company Cannot See
Your personal data: photos, personal messages, calls, browsing history, personal apps, location history, or personal calendar entries.
Time Requirements
- Plan approximately 30-45 minutes for the complete setup
- Ensure you have uninterrupted time to complete the process
- Stay near a stable Wi-Fi connection throughout the setup
- Do not skip any steps for optimal results
Checklist Before Starting
- iPhone with sufficient battery and storage
- Stable Wi-Fi connection available
- Microsoft Authenticator installed
- Company Portal app installed
- @gc.dev credentials ready
- 30-45 minutes of uninterrupted time
- Old management profiles removed (if applicable)
