Setting up Your iPhone for Greencells Development

This guide will walk you through enrolling your iPhone in the Greencells Development environment while maintaining complete privacy of your personal data.

Step 1: Initial Account Setup

  1. Open the Microsoft Intune Company Portal app on your iPhone
  2. Tap "Sign in" and enter your @gc.dev email address
  3. Enter the temporary password provided by IT
  4. You'll be prompted to change your password - create a strong, secure password
  5. When prompted for multi-factor authentication:
    • Open the Microsoft Authenticator app
    • Tap the "+" button and select "Work or school account"
    • Scan the QR code displayed in Company Portal
    • Approve the authentication request in Authenticator

Step 2: Device Enrollment

  1. After signing in, tap "Begin" or "Get started" in Company Portal
  2. You'll see information about what your organization can and cannot see - review and tap "Continue"
  3. Tap "Install" when prompted to download the management profile
  4. You'll be redirected to Settings. Tap "Allow" to download the configuration profile
  5. In Settings, tap "Profile Downloaded" at the top of the screen
  6. Tap "Install" in the top right corner
  7. Enter your iPhone passcode when prompted
  8. Tap "Install" again to confirm, then "Install" once more
  9. Tap "Done" when installation is complete

Step 3: Complete Enrollment

  1. Return to the Company Portal app
  2. The app will check your device compliance - this may take a few minutes
  3. If all requirements are met, you'll see "Setup Complete" with a green checkmark
  4. Tap "Done" to finish the enrollment process

The installed profile allows your organization to manage work-related apps and data while keeping your personal information completely private.

Step 4: Install and Configure Work Applications

You'll now have access to work applications through the Company Portal. Install the following apps:

📧 Microsoft Outlook

  1. Open Company Portal and go to the "Apps" section
  2. Find and install "Microsoft Outlook"
  3. Open Outlook and sign in with your @gc.dev account
  4. Allow Outlook to send notifications when prompted
  5. Configure your email signature and calendar settings
  6. Set up your working hours in calendar preferences

👥 Microsoft Teams

  1. Install "Microsoft Teams" from Company Portal
  2. Open Teams and sign in with your @gc.dev account
  3. Allow Teams to access your microphone and camera when prompted
  4. Set your availability status and working hours
  5. Test your audio and video settings

📁 Microsoft OneDrive

  1. Install "Microsoft OneDrive" from Company Portal
  2. Sign in with your @gc.dev account
  3. Choose which folders to sync to your iPhone
  4. Enable camera upload for work-related photos if desired
  5. Configure offline files if needed

📄 Microsoft Office Apps

  1. Install the following Office apps from Company Portal:
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft PowerPoint
  2. Each app will automatically sign in with your work account
  3. You can now create, edit, and save documents directly to your work OneDrive

Step 5: Security and Compliance

  1. Return to Company Portal and check your device status
  2. Ensure your device shows as "Compliant"
  3. If any issues are shown, follow the recommended actions
  4. Verify that your iPhone has a passcode or biometric lock enabled
  5. Check that automatic screen lock is set to an appropriate time

Step 6: Test Your Setup

  1. Email Test: Send a test email from Outlook to verify it's working
  2. Calendar Test: Check that your calendar is syncing properly
  3. Teams Test: Join or start a test meeting to verify audio/video
  4. OneDrive Test: Upload a test file and verify it syncs
  5. Document Test: Create a test document in Word and save to OneDrive

⚠️ Important Notice About the Deadline

Please do not work in the old environment after July 25, 2025 at 6 PM.

  • All changes in OneDrive and SharePoint Sites made after July 25, 2025 at 6 PM in the Greencells.com environment will no longer be synchronized with the Greencells Development environment.
  • Emails will still be forwarded for 6 months from @greencells.com to @gc.dev. Please inform your business partners about your new email address.

Your iPhone is now ready for work with Greencells Development. Your personal data remains completely private and secure.

Tips for Daily Use

  • Work apps will have a small "managed" indicator to distinguish them from personal apps
  • You can turn on "Do Not Disturb" for work apps outside of working hours
  • Use the Teams app to set your availability status
  • Your work and personal calendars remain separate unless you choose to merge views
