Setting up Your Personal Windows Computer
This guide will help you set up your personal Windows computer to work with the Greencells Development environment while maintaining the separation between your personal and work data.
Step 1: Visit the Company Portal
- Open your web browser and navigate to: https://portal.manage.microsoft.com
- Sign in with your @gc.dev email address and the temporary password provided by IT.
- You will be prompted to change your password. Create a strong password and remember it well.
- Set up multi-factor authentication using your Microsoft Authenticator app.
Step 2: Download and Install Company Portal App
- From the Company Portal website, download the Company Portal app for Windows.
- Install the app on your personal computer.
- Launch the Company Portal app and sign in with your @gc.dev credentials.
Step 3: Enroll Your Device
- In the Company Portal app, click "Add Device" or "Enroll Device".
- Follow the on-screen instructions to enroll your Windows device.
- You may be prompted to install additional policies or certificates.
- Allow the installation of required management profiles.
Step 4: Install Required Applications
The following applications will be automatically installed or available through the Company Portal:
- Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Microsoft Teams
- OneDrive for Business
- Microsoft Edge (if not already installed)
Step 5: Configure Office Applications
📧 Microsoft Outlook
- Launch Outlook from the Start menu.
- Sign in with your @gc.dev email address.
- Allow Outlook to configure your account automatically.
- Set up your calendar working hours and preferences.
📁 OneDrive for Business
- Launch OneDrive from the system tray or Start menu.
- Sign in with your @gc.dev credentials.
- Choose which folders to sync to your device.
- Your work files will now be synchronized with your OneDrive for Business.
👥 Microsoft Teams
- Launch Microsoft Teams.
- Sign in with your @gc.dev account.
- Configure your audio and video settings.
- Set your availability and working hours.
Step 6: Verify Setup
- Open the Company Portal app and verify that your device shows as "Compliant".
- Test sending and receiving emails through Outlook.
- Verify that you can access your OneDrive files.
- Test a Teams call or meeting to ensure audio/video works.
⚠️ Important Notice About the Deadline
Please do not work in the old environment after July 25, 2025 at 6 PM.
- All changes in OneDrive and SharePoint Sites made after July 25, 2025 at 6 PM in the Greencells.com environment will no longer be synchronized with the Greencells Development environment.
- Emails will still be forwarded for 6 months from @greencells.com to @gc.dev. Please inform your business partners about your new email address.
