Setting up Your Personal Mac
This guide will help you set up your personal Mac to work with the Greencells Development environment while maintaining complete separation between your personal and work data.
Step 1: Access the Company Portal
- Open Safari or your preferred web browser.
- Navigate to: https://portal.manage.microsoft.com
- Click "Sign In" and enter your @gc.dev email address.
- Enter the temporary password provided by Greencells Development IT.
- You will be prompted to change your password. Create a strong, secure password.
Step 2: Set up Multi-Factor Authentication
- After changing your password, you'll be prompted to set up additional security verification.
- Choose "Mobile app" and select "Receive notifications for verification".
- Open Microsoft Authenticator on your mobile device.
- Tap the "+" button and select "Work or school account".
- Scan the QR code displayed on your Mac screen.
- Approve the test notification on your mobile device.
Step 3: Download Company Portal App
- From the Company Portal website, click on "Download the Company Portal app".
- Download the Company Portal app for macOS from the Mac App Store.
- Install and launch the Company Portal app.
- Sign in with your @gc.dev credentials.
Step 4: Enroll Your Mac
- In the Company Portal app, click "Begin" or "Add Device".
- Follow the on-screen instructions to download the management profile.
- When prompted, go to System Preferences > Profiles.
- Install the management profile by clicking "Install" and entering your Mac password.
- Return to the Company Portal app to complete the enrollment.
Step 5: Install Microsoft Office
- In the Company Portal app, browse to "Apps".
- Find and install Microsoft Office applications:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft Teams
- Allow the installations to complete.
Step 6: Configure Applications
📧 Microsoft Outlook
- Launch Outlook from your Applications folder.
- Select "Office 365" as your account type.
- Enter your @gc.dev email address and password.
- Complete the account setup and allow Outlook to sync your emails and calendar.
- Configure your working hours and calendar preferences.
👥 Microsoft Teams
- Launch Microsoft Teams from your Applications folder.
- Sign in with your @gc.dev account.
- Allow Teams to access your microphone and camera when prompted.
- Configure your audio and video settings.
- Set your availability status and working hours.
📁 OneDrive
- OneDrive should install automatically with Office. If not, download it from the Company Portal.
- Launch OneDrive and sign in with your @gc.dev account.
- Choose which folders to sync to your Mac.
- Select a location for your OneDrive folder (recommended: keep the default).
- Wait for the initial sync to complete.
Step 7: Verify Setup
- Open the Company Portal app and check that your device status shows as "Compliant".
- Test sending an email from Outlook to ensure it works properly.
- Verify that you can access your work files in OneDrive.
- Join a test Teams meeting to verify audio and video functionality.
Privacy Protection
Your personal data remains completely separate. The management profile only affects work-related applications and data.
⚠️ Important Notice About the Deadline
Please do not work in the old environment after July 25, 2025 at 6 PM.
- All changes in OneDrive and SharePoint Sites made after July 25, 2025 at 6 PM in the Greencells.com environment will no longer be synchronized with the Greencells Development environment.
- Emails will still be forwarded for 6 months from @greencells.com to @gc.dev. Please inform your business partners about your new email address.
