Setting up Your Android Work Profile
This guide will walk you through creating a work profile on your Android device, ensuring complete separation between your personal and work data.
Step 1: Install Microsoft Intune Company Portal
- Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.
- Search for "Microsoft Intune Company Portal" or "Company Portal".
- Install the app developed by Microsoft Corporation.
- Open the Company Portal app once installed.
Step 2: Sign In and Set Up Work Profile
- In the Company Portal app, tap "Sign in".
- Enter your @gc.dev email address and temporary password.
- You will be prompted to change your password. Create a strong, secure password.
- Complete multi-factor authentication using Microsoft Authenticator:
- Open Microsoft Authenticator on your phone
- Add a work or school account
- Scan the QR code displayed
- Approve the authentication request
Step 3: Create Work Profile
- After signing in, you'll see an option to "Set up work profile".
- Tap "Set up" or "Get started".
- You'll be asked to install a work profile. Tap "Install".
- Review the permissions and tap "Accept" to create the work profile.
- Wait for the work profile to be created (this may take a few minutes).
📱 Understanding Your Work Profile
Once the work profile is created, you'll see work apps marked with a briefcase icon. These apps are completely separate from your personal apps and data.
Step 4: Install Work Applications
The following applications will be automatically installed in your work profile:
- Microsoft Outlook - For work emails and calendar
- Microsoft Teams - For communications and meetings
- Microsoft OneDrive - For work file storage and sync
- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint - For document editing
- Microsoft Edge - For secure web browsing
Step 5: Configure Work Applications
📧 Microsoft Outlook (Work Version)
- Open Outlook from your work apps (look for the briefcase icon).
- It should automatically configure with your @gc.dev account.
- If prompted, enter your work credentials again.
- Set up your calendar preferences and working hours.
- Configure notifications as desired (work notifications are separate from personal).
👥 Microsoft Teams (Work Version)
- Open Teams from your work apps.
- Sign in with your @gc.dev account if prompted.
- Allow permissions for camera and microphone when requested.
- Configure your presence and availability settings.
- Test audio and video to ensure they work properly.
📁 Microsoft OneDrive (Work Version)
- Open OneDrive from your work apps.
- Sign in with your @gc.dev account.
- Choose which folders to sync to your device.
- Enable camera upload for work-related photos if desired.
Step 6: Security and Compliance
- Return to the Company Portal app.
- Check that your device shows as "Compliant" in the device status.
- If any issues are shown, follow the recommended actions to resolve them.
- Ensure your device has a screen lock (PIN, pattern, password, fingerprint, or face unlock).
Privacy Assurance
Your personal apps, data, photos, and messages remain completely private. Only work-related apps and data are managed by the company.
Easy Switching
You can easily switch between personal and work modes. Work apps are marked with a briefcase icon for easy identification.
Step 7: Test Your Setup
- Send a test email from work Outlook to verify it's working.
- Access a file from your work OneDrive to ensure sync is working.
- Join or start a test Teams meeting to check audio/video.
- Verify you can switch between personal and work apps seamlessly.
⚠️ Important Notice About the Deadline
Please do not work in the old environment after July 25, 2025 at 6 PM.
- All changes in OneDrive and SharePoint Sites made after July 25, 2025 at 6 PM in the Greencells.com environment will no longer be synchronized with the Greencells Development environment.
- Emails will still be forwarded for 6 months from @greencells.com to @gc.dev. Please inform your business partners about your new email address.
